2008 Junior 'A' Midget Draft
The second annual Junior Midget Draft was held this Sunday February 10th at Poco arena. Last year the Stickmen drafted Devon Winters first over all and has proven his value between the pipes.
This year the Stickmen had fifteen picks in the first ten rounds with several coming in the third and fourth rounds. The Stickmen took local Abbotsford player Jordan Schulstad as their first pick overall followed up by Langley's Joshua Kaiser pictured here on the right between Curtis Gulliford and Joe Willmott.
First pick overall in the draft was held by Burnaby who didn't waste any time in selecting Richmond's Midget goalie Ben Harris.
After several hours the draft ended in the 15th round when Delta selected their last pick of the day.
For all the players that were selected they had to be a "free agent". This meaning they did not have a residency in an area where a Junior 'A' lacrosse team played. All these players selected now have two years before entering Junior lacrosse where they will then play for their respective teams that selected them in this the 2008 draft.
