Fighting For Playoff Spots
Is The Name Of The Game

For most of the BCJALL teams it is past the half way mark of the season and that means the hunt for playoff spots begins.

For some like the Stickmen it means the desperation of winning every game possible, especially against other celler dwellers, in order to keep their chances alive. One such game is this tonight when the Delta Islanders play at North Surrey Arena.

In the first of the home and home series last Saturday night, the Stickmen managed to pull off a much needed 10-8 victory thanks in part to solid goal tending by Codey Lewis. As well Matt Hannah notched a hat trick along with Hernandez and Dibblee scoring a pair of goals. Singles were scored by Rowan, Weidenhammer and Eitel, with Eitel adding five assists as well.

A win tonight against Delta will propel them into a four way tie for 5th place with Surrey winning the tie breaker. That's the good news. The bad news is the Stickmen lead the league in goals against with a whopping 154.

John Canil and Kevin Guichon, the top scoring pair of the Islanders hope to take advantage of this stat and hook up with Robbie Campbell and Corey Williamson who lead the Islanders in assists on the season.

This is a must win for both teams. Expect neither to leave anything behind on the floor tonight at North Surrey Arena.
